At the age of 24, Pastor Rick underwent a transformative experience while immersed in the music of Metallica in September 1994. This revelation led him to acknowledge the need to abandon his former way of life and embrace purpose, spiritual values, and faith. The profound impact of this second chance propelled Pastor Rick into a journey of giving back to those trapped in destructive cycles.
In these challenging times, Pastor Rick assumes the role of a servant leader, providing guidance both locally and internationally. Serving as the Pastor of Iglesia Crosspoint, a bilingual church in Bellaire, Texas, and as a Staff Evangelist at West University Baptist Church, he is also a certified Life Coach and Spiritual Motivator by John Maxwell. Beyond teaching, Pastor Rick embodies the values he imparts.
The 1st Stone Recovery Support Group represents a 12-week life intervention program. It caters to young individuals, parents, and anyone ensnared in destructive cycles, offering impactful content designed to transform thinking, provoke action, and cultivate purpose. This Support Group boldly challenges participants to overcome the boundaries of addictive behaviors and emotional turmoil, guiding them toward a purpose-driven existence.
The 1st Stone Recovery Support Group covers a range of crucial topics, including Relapse Prevention, Attitude, Choices, Emotional Stability, Recovery Support, the 4 Pillars (King/Queen, Warrior, Mentor, Friend), and Spiritual Foundation.
Referrals to this intervention class are accepted from the state, courts, and the community, covering the spectrum from teenagers to young adults and parents. Each referral undergoes a thorough case-by-case evaluation. Successful graduates are awarded a certificate of completion, with the service provided free of charge for each student accepted into the 1st Stone Support Recovery Group program. Upon graduation, each 1st Stone graduate is assigned a mentor for 6 months to assist in applying the learned principles to real-life situations. All classes are conducted in person and exclusively in the Spanish language.
